Who are we (U) n’ what are we (US) doing??
Hi dear MUG members
June 25, my college just re-opened! Now that was fun…I guess. Today a couple of my juniors came running towards me when i fell in their sight n’ they just started bugging me what this M.U.G [Microsoft User Group] is about and what this blah-blah?! I was perplexed by their naive questions, i asked em’ why they signed up for MUG without even clarifying their doubts in the first place. Their prompt reply, “The Certificates”! I agree Certificate are important to a lot of people, but hey, these pieces of printed materials are not gonna truly do you any good, believe me. So, i decided to take up this brave venture where I set out to explain “once again”, what MUG is all about and what we (i.e) you valued members and the team here will be doing in forthcoming months.
First, I want you peers to understand truly what an User Group means.
User groups are typically independently run, volunteer groups that meet on a regular basis to discuss and share information on a variety of technical topics. Participation in a user group is an excellent, inexpensive way to receive technical content, education and to meet with your peers to get more out of your area of interest.
About the MUG and Culminis alliance
Recently, after lot of personal efforts and formalities, this user group has been identified as the Culminis APAC alliance member. The culminis has recogonised our User group and now we are one among the 1077 Member Organizations representing 2,707,831 IT Professionals worldwide!
In case you are unfamiliar with the Culminis, read about in my previous blog here:

The culminis association guarantees to provide support, presentations, oppurtunities provided we are doing the right on our part.
Next, about the M.U.G.
The MUG is not just another rip-off as a few may expect. We are here to improve our depth of understanding related to Microsoft Technologies and General IT and how we may envision a creative, efficient, though sustainable environment through use of computers.
These are the areas of discussion topics our user group is related with:
Management/Business
Programming
Wireless
Technical Support
Digital Media
Security
General IT
Networking
Yes, these may seem as a very little coverage but I personally assure you that the area covered will increase with increase in your level of commitment towards the user group. Please make use of the Forums that are at your disposal here:

Strength Lies in Quality of the group:
As of yet, the stat shows 329 registered members in our group, it would be great even if just one more adds up or just speaks out in the forum periodically. Hey, Nobody’s gonna sue you, remember, We here are students like you, so no fuss and start posting in the forums. The more intellectual questions you raise up in the forums, the more interactive answers the people will be willing to give you! Know something great, just bragg about it in the forums!! Wanna know about something specific, Just ask!!
Hope to see more of you communicate better in the forums next time!
C-ya!
