A couple of months ago, Gmail supposedly boasted to come up with “GoogleMe”, a rumored Facebook killer. “Digg” founder Kevin Rose had tweeted about this too. Guess Facebook took this personal and came up with its announcement of launching its very own Gmail Killer!

The war of the internet giants ever continued and this times its Facebook vs Gmail on bid to rule the social networking sphere. Facebook has announced a new messaging system that will let you have your very own email address via your existing facebook profiles, something like “yourname@facebook.com”. This new concept from Facebook aims to take facebook’s already existing domination a few notches higher. The new system will integrate Text messages and Emails directly into your facebook accounts.

On accounts of questions arising in the internet buzz as if it was their blow to Google’s popular Gmail, here’s what Mr.Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook said, “This is not an email killer. This is a messaging system that includes email as one part of it“.

This new service is to roll out in the upcoming months and should have a strong backup of already existing 500million Facebook users. Google, look out, if this catches up to become the new email Karma, G-mail and others should have a tough time holding their email dominance.
