Cheapest Android Tablet – Wespro epad
Ever since Apple came out with its i-Pad, companies all over the world are busy making the next i-pad killer. Though the Wespro E-pad from India definitely might not be an i-pad killer, it sure is worth a look, especially if you are looking to flaunt a tablet well under a budget!
Previously, I had written about I-pad alternatives that were close competitors to the Apple’s tablet. The Wespro pad however, is focused more towards the budget conscious buyer and comes with a special offer price tag of 8,000 INR ($180 USD) approx.
Powered by a 400MHz processor coupled with 128MB RAM, the e-pad runs on Google’s Android OS v1.9. The display is 7 inch and has 2GB of inbuilt NAND Flash storage (more stable and faster than hard disks). The memory is expandable upto 32GB via TF memory card. The device comes with Wi-fi and is Android market place complaint, meaning, you can add more applications from the android market.
The spec looks suitable enough to accomplish most day-to-day tasks of checking email on the go, browsing, multimedia, or maybe as an e-book reader replacement. Students and budget conscious buyers who are planning to buy a tablet may well consider this or should wait until the $35 laptop thats scheduled to launch in India the following year.
