Android update: Version 2.3 Codename Gingerbread
A few hours ago, Google officially launched yet another version of immensely popular Mobile OS – The Android, codenamed “Gingerbread“. Ever since the first release, Android has been gaining a huge portion of mobile OS market share like a hungry Piranha. Here’s version 2.3 of the trump card from Google.
The Gingerbread seems to have a lot of improvements over the previous “Froyo”. A faster response & zero minimal delay seems to be incorporated.
- The interface & UI have been given a better theme makeup
- Support for Emulator Skins (QVGA, WVGA, HVGA)
- A redesigned On-screen Keyboard [Supposedly with Multi-touch capability for those shortcuts]
- Better web standards & multimedia support
- OpenGl improvements – Means Better smoother Gaming!
- Audio taunts from Gingerbread
- Near field communication (NFC) support
- Improved Texting features
