A few hours ago, Google officially launched yet another version of immensely popular Mobile OSThe Android, codenamed “Gingerbread“. Ever since the first release, Android has been gaining a huge portion of mobile OS market share like a hungry Piranha. Here’s version 2.3 of the trump card from Google.

The Gingerbread seems to have a lot of improvements over the previous “Froyo”. A faster response & zero minimal delay seems to be incorporated.

  • The interface & UI have been given a better theme makeup
  • Support for Emulator Skins (QVGA, WVGA, HVGA)
  • A redesigned On-screen Keyboard [Supposedly with Multi-touch capability for those shortcuts]
  • Better web standards & multimedia support
  • OpenGl improvements – Means Better smoother Gaming!
  • Audio taunts from Gingerbread
  • Near field communication (NFC) support
  • Improved Texting features
